Using the Pricing Layout Workspace

Pricing Layout - Use the Pricing Layout to determine how you want to arrange information in the data table.
Pricing Attributes - Five pricing attributes are used to determine the layout of the data table as we apply it to groups:

Experience Level
Industry Partner
Labor Category
Work Site
Year

Drag-and-Drop Variables into the Price Layout Workspace - To Drag and Drop a variable in the desired spot,simply click on one of the variables to pick it up and drag to move it. For example:
1. Click and drag the Work Site variable.
2. Drag it to the slot row or column you want it in.
3. Select the appropriate filters, if you haven't done it already.
4. Then, click the Update Results button to see the data within your new layout.
Other drag-and-drop features are:

Variables already placed in the column and row grouping boxes can be "ungrouped" by dragging them back to the attribute palette.
Any Variable can be swapped for another variable by dropping one variable on top of another.
Variables can be freely moved using drag-and-drop into the order you desire.

Also:

Sorting in the Data Table - Clicking the ascending or descending indicator can reverse the order attributes are sorted within the layout. For example: If the third attribute to group by is “Year”, you can set the years to appear in alphanumeric ascending or descending order.

Working with the Price Filter workspace

The price filter workspace consists of the following filters:

Scope Area - You'll choose this filter first; there are three Scope Areas to choose from:

Main Scope Area - contains industry partners that are technically proficient for contract opportunities that do not require Emerging Technology or OCONUS experience.
Scope Sub-Area 1: Emerging Technology-Focused IT Services - This sub-area provides IT services-based solutions which involve emerging technology innovation to securely accelerate transformation and advance mission outcomes.
Scope Sub-Area 2: IT Services performed outside of CONUS - This sub-area provides IT services-based solutions to be performed outside the contiguous United States (OCONUS).

Industry Partners - A set number of industry partners are a part of this program. Selecting the ones you want will rapidly reduce the research set you're working on. The list of Industry Partners will depend on your choice for the Scope Area and Functional Area as all Industry Partners do not participate for all Scope Area and Functional Areas.
Labor Categories - A set number of Labor Categories are a part of this program. Selecting the ones you want will reduce the research set you're working on.
Experience Level - This filter allows users to select the experience level of the labor category.

Work Sites - Choose one of two available sites: contractor or government site.
Contract Year - Only five years of pricing are provided. Select the pricing years you'd like to see. For pricing beyond contract year 5 please contact the 8(a) STARS III team at s3@gsa.gov.

Using Dropdown Option Lists

Click on the pricing filter you would like to use.
All drop down option lists share:

Check all - This feature allows you to select all the options currently within the dropdown list.
Uncheck all - This feature permits you to de-select all the options currently within the dropdown list.
A Filter with a text box - This powerful feature allows you to narrow your choices. Type in the text box what you'd like to narrow the options down to. In the example to the right, the option list is being narrowed down to just a few options that contain the text string "cap". When you use this feature, it affects only the items that are in the dropdown. (i.e., the filtered dropdown items only)

The Command Bar & Statistics Filters

The Command Bar has the following features:

Update Results - Select this to update the screen's data. If you change any aspect of layout, filtering, or statistics you'd like to see, select Update Results.
Cancel - If you have started a search you'd like to stop, then select this.
Save to Excel? - This button allows you to save your data to an excel file.
Statistics Options - The tool processes up to four statistics if these options are selected: Minimum, Maximum, Mean and Median pricing. By default, these stats aren't computed as part of the data. Just de-select what you'd like to remove from the results. When selected, the statistics being displayed are only applicable to the selections made in the Price Filter section.

Data Table

Setting the number of visible entries - Common search engine patterns will apply here. You can select the number of entries you want to be able to see with the provided drop down. The upper limit is likely to be something reasonable, such as 100 rows.
On visibility and large data sets - Due to available screen real estate, the list of figures could trail off to the right or downward as the number increases. Use the browser scroll bars to get to the area you’d like to see. The browser's find function can help locate a familiar name or number for you.Alternatively, you can always export to excel and work with the data there.
Data Maintenance - The data displayed here is maintained on a regular basis (i.e. Weekly).
Visual Data Updates - The table visually updates with every change you make to filters or layout, so visual updates are immediate (or can be updated with the “Update” button as mentioned above.)
Backing up to see a recent change - The browser's back button should suffice to backtrack your progress if you need to do so, but if you change anything beyond that point, the forward button will reset, and all changes you’ve made after that point are lost.

Statistics Filters

Additional Statistics can be added to the Data Table, with filters selected in Filters Pod, which is open.
Minimum, Maximum, Mean and Average statistics columns are available.
Click the options you would like to see in the data table and they will appear.

Column Grouping

Drop an element from above to form a top level row grouping. Drag an existing element to another location to change grouping. Drag an existing element back to the attribute palette above to ungroup.

Price Filter

To get started first select a Scope Area, industry partner, labor category and experience level; then click Update Results button. If desired, other attributes may be changed as well.
